Article On Recycling

An old article that I just finished today.
Enjoy!

Recycling is important not because  it help keeps our planet alive. How does it of this? That will be today’s topic.

Before we start, what is recycling? Recycling is when you take  already used and turning the materials of that used thing into something you or someone else can use again. For example turning a plastic bottle into another product that some other person can use like maybe a box. Now that you know what  recycling is, let’s talk about about how recycling can save our only planet.

Firstly, recycling let’s us use our very limited our very limited resources again. Recycling let’s us use our resources to our fullest potential instead of being wasted in landfills.

Secondly, recycling can save our animals in more ways then one. Non-recyclable products end up in landfills which might be built in or next to animal habitats. The animals could mistakenly  eat or swallow the items in the landfill. The animals might not be able to swallow the items properly causing them to choke. Even if they do swallow it, there’s a whole variety of health problems including, but not limited to starvation, internal injuries, entanglement or weakened  mobility, and chemicals exposer which could lead to developmental issues, cancer and more. Littering can often do the same thing too. Introducing a diet of plastics as food is also possible making it if the animals survive their first encounter with plastic they might eat plastic again mistaking it for food.

Finally, recycling saves money and has other economic benefits. Recycling is cheaper then landfilling. Doing this also allows us to spend less money on resource extraction. Recycling also creates more jobs at recycling like recycling truck drivers, recycling sorters, material recovery facility (MRF) managers, and so many more roles.

In conclusion, recycling has so many benefits that it would be a no-brainer to change from landfilling. I really hope that when people read this they might consider recycling and maybe even take action to make a better future.
